And here's me thinking that Ridgeline was a NZ clothing brand started by kiwi Peter Maxwell back in the 90's. No wonder the clothing range these days is of a low quality.

I used to always used Ridgeline gear but after many recent problems with cheaply made Chinese zippers on their products I have steered away from their products and tell my customers to do the same.  The H2O day pack is well designed but I had the top pocket fail on the South Island and pouring rain stuffed my camera.  A long sleeve top had the zipper break and the remaining bit refused to go down resulting in drastic action to make it do so.  Also, whilst duck shooting in the Wairarapa my Roar jacket let rain in around the shoulder area causing the onset of mild hyperthermia because of the freezing conditions at the time.  A couple of these problems were reported to Highland Sports who asked me to send photo's of the offending items.  The only response was to tell me they were going to bring up the zip problems next time they were in China.  Try Stoney Creek or Flambeau gear if you want reliability as they still use YKK zips!
